Mr. Ruffing
Purpose: This course offers the advanced third or fourth year math student a refresher course in Algebra II, Trigonometry, and Analytical Geometry and a basic understanding of the principles of Calculus. It is primarily designed as an extremely broad background for the student entering a college level Calculus course in the next year.

Course Outline: |

Class Procedures: The major activities of the class will be lecture and student participation through problem solving (notes and HW). Homework problems will be assigned practically on a daily basis and students are encouraged to ask questions about those problems that were difficult for them to complete or master.
Grading: The quarter grade will be determined as follows:

| Grade Calculation: |
* a final grade of 0.5% or greater will be raised |
| Materials Needed: | The textbook, pencil, calculator, and notebook - EVERYDAY! A TI-83 graphing calculator may be rented for $5 to use all year. Batteries will not be supplied. |
